WITHOUT YOU

Carmen Lenz

I went for coffee today, But I drove through. Usually I walk in. The barista still knows my order by heart: Double, tall, white, chocolate-caramel latte, skinny. My favorite; your favorite. She hands me my change and drink And asks how my day is going. I tell her it's okay. I leave a tip And pull away from the window. I went for coffee today, But I went without you.
